Kickstartin to Keep Rockin: Doctor Ed & Friends
Greetings boosters!
Whether you be a musician, artist, or just have big dreams Kickstarter can easily help you to fund your creative projects. Kickstarter connects projects to donors with a page on their website that enables users to make a donation to projects in exchange for prizes at different tiers depending on how much is donated.
This is what Chicago funk/reggae/rock band Doctor Ed & Friends is doing to help fund their next EP. If you aren't familiar with Doctor Ed they are a nine-piece band that rolls on funky bass-lines, toppling horn melodies, dueling guitars, and raw energetic vocals. This troupe of musicians gets you on your feet for an ecstatic atmosphere of durty funk and heavy rock settling down on sweet reggae music.
Doctor Ed is recording a new six track EP and a single at Engine Studios which will have their best tunes to date on it. Doctor Ed has began their own kickstarter which allows YOU to make a donation in exchange for Doctor Ed music, merch, services, and prizes in order to help afford a professional recording which reflects the dynamic musicianship, time, and effort creating this EP
Prizes for donating include the new EP, T-shirts, posters, a cover of your favorite song, or your own house party. You could even own a liberty spike from Doctor Ed's mohawk, a coveted relic among fans.
The new EP features new additions to the Doctor Ed army since their last recording for a fuller sound and new ways of expressing their music. Noe Perez (rhythm guitar) has altered the writing capacity for these new tracks whether it be dueling off with Nick Cardelli (lead guitar) or bringing a tasteful ambiance. The band also welcomes Drew Stuery (trombone) to complete a full horn section and Devon Bates on percussion. This conglomerate of musicians have been growing together for over seven years and each year exponentially improves on their personal and collective musicianship.
Take a listen of their last EP for free on their bandcamp which is also another great tool for up and coming artists.
